“He Shall Be Called” — Sheet Music Now Available

For over a year now, many of you have reached out asking the same question:

“When can we get the sheet music for He Shall Be Called?”

Today, I’m happy to announce that it’s finally here.

This hymn—born from prayer, Scripture, and the ancient cry of Israel for the promised Messiah—has become one of the most meaningful pieces I’ve ever written. When it debuted in last year’s Nativity Play, several parish musicians asked for a score so they could bring it into their Advent liturgies, holy hours, small groups, and family prayer. Until now, the only version available was the original vocal recording.

Now, for the first time, the official sheet music is available for download.

A Hymn Rooted in Prophecy and Promise

He Shall Be Called takes its structure and language directly from Isaiah’s messianic titles and the haunting beauty of the O Antiphons. The melody was composed to be simple enough for a congregation, yet rich enough for a choir—reverent, steady, and steeped in the quiet awe of Advent.

With this release, you now have access to:

  • Full Piano/Vocal Sheet Music

  • Vocal lines arranged for solo or choral use

  • Lyrics as performed in the original recording

  • Optional chant-like Latin echo (“O Rex gentium…”)

Whether you're planning parish liturgies, community gatherings, school performances, or simply want to incorporate the hymn into your personal prayer, the score has been formatted for clear, easy use.

Perfect for Advent, Christmas, or Any Time You Need Light

At its heart, He Shall Be Called is a proclamation of hope—God’s fulfillment of His promises, His closeness in our darkness, and the ancient truth that “the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.”

Its refrain is built to echo in the soul long after the final chord fades:

“He shall be called Emmanuel, God-with-us, our Light…”

Now, with the sheet music available, this hymn can be sung by communities far beyond its original debut.
